Jump into the Ring with Jenn

Jenn’s laced up her boxing gloves and stepped into the ring for the ultimate fight. It’s Jenn vs Cancer and we fully expect Jenn to come home with the championship belt. She’s fighting to knockout stage 4B Primary Peritoneal Cancer (PPC). As a BRCA 1 carrier, she did everything she could to prevent this cancer; including a double mastectomy and oophorectomy in 2013. There was only a 1% chance she would have to battle PPC, yet here we are.
Since the cancer is advanced, Jenn will need multiple, intense chemo treatments. These treatments will lower her immune system and impact this dedicated educator’s ability to work. She already has medical bills coming in (oh, and she JUST paid off the thousands of dollars of bills from her 2013 surgeries). In addition to medical bills, she is spending money on essentials, such as masks to protect her from germs, gas to get to and from the hospital, and more.
Though we’re hoping for a TKO in the first round, PPC has a very high recurrence rate, and she will almost certainly have to go through chemo more than once. Throughout all of this, Jenn has remained positive and determined. We can help her focus on getting better, staying positive (with a good cry or 50 as needed), taking care of herself, and being a Mom by helping to take her mind off of her bills.
