Jenifer’s Breast Cancer Journey
Hello friends! Where do I begin? If you know Jen, you have felt the immense amount of warmth she exudes. If you don’t you’re truly missing out. Our dear friend has one of the brightest personalities you’ll come across, and we count ourselves lucky to have her in our life’s.
Jenifer works harder than any person we know. Typically having 2-4 jobs, all while attending school full time to peruse a History degree. She does all of this while showing up and supporting friends in anything they do. She is always helping others, protesting, and fighting for what is right.
In comes 2020. With close to all of Jen’s jobs being put on hold due to Covid-19 and starting at SDSU, Jen did not need any more stress on her plate...
After feeling a suspicious mass in her breast during a self examine, Jen made an appointment with the doctor. Unfortunately her intuition was right. On September 9th Jenifer was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma: Breast Cancer.
On October 19th Jen had a Partial Mastectomy & Lymph Node Removal. The good news is the margins came back clean and there was no further lymph involvement, so fingers crossed for no other surgery. She is still awaiting the staging and news of what her next step will be: radiation or chemotherapy. Her journey is far from over.
in the mean time we want to help Jen in anyway we can. She is never someone to ask for aid, but always so willing to give to others. So us, her friends and chosen family are here asking for her because she deserves that and much more.
This fund will aid her in many things since she is unable to work and has the added stress of still being a full time student (she’s super human) Cost of living, medical treatments, and care are just the tip of the iceberg.
