Jenevieve Brewer Emergency Vet Care Fund

Last week, we were heartbroken to mourn the tragic passing of our beloved friend Jenevieve Brewer, whose excellence and generosity as an artist manager, teacher, and animal lover knew no bounds.

Sadly, Jenevieve left behind five beloved fur babies: three cats and two dogs; two of whom are in desperate need of emergency care. After three days in a kill shelter, one of her cats, Jakey, developed an acute urinary blockage, causing crystals and sediment in his bladder, requiring immediate surgery. He is shakily recovering but will need aftercare.

While in pre-adoption foster care, one of her two rescue Westies, Gabby, was severely bitten several times on a walk. The wounds are very deep, need drainage tubes, and the vets are trying to fight the terrible infection caused by this horrible attack. The intense suffering has made her unable to eat or take medicine, thus forcing her to go back to round- the-clock-care at Blue Pearl. Her skin is becoming necrotic, and we don't want to lose her!

Anyone who has had a pet know that emergency vet bills are BEYOND expensive, and while we all mourn Jenevieve together, her animals are hurting and confused without their home and beloved owner. In addition to her artists’ careers, Jenevieve dedicated herself to animal rescue and welfare. To give to keep her rescues alive, is to honor her legacy.

All funds raised will be put towards the vet bills of Jenevieve’s animals. Any surplus will be donated to Funny For Fido, who will then donate every last dollar to Jen's favorite causes. The current amount of bills thus far, is just about $10k. (Yes, you read right.) And we have a ways to go. No donation is too small.

The one shining light in all of this, is that her beloved cats will remain together, and her two pups will as well... We just have to get through this awful rocky start. It takes a village, and Jenevieve certainly has a great one. Please be a part of our village. Thank you from the bottom of our aching hearts.
