Discovering My OM-Yoga Teacher Training

Hello, my name is Jennifer.
Three years ago, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Today I am a survivor. It was during the journey of recovery my love of yoga grew. I am able to connect with myself, feel alive, strong and at peace. Now that I am in remission, I have decided to continue my journey and earn a 200 Hour Yoga Teaching Certificate to help other cancer survivors.
I started practicing yoga 10 years ago and I have seen a change in myself; physically, emotionally and spiritually. I have developed flexibility, strength and balance. Concentrating on what my body is doing during a pose brings calmness to my mind. I am able to focus on my breath and disengage from my thoughts. Off the matt, these skills have proven invaluable when dealing with physical and emotional stress that the intensive medical procedures can place on the body and mind.
I have dedicated the last twenty years working for non-profits such as Boys & Girls Clubs of America and United Way. I understand the importance of giving back. Being a teacher is my passion. Once I earn the certificate, I will share the amazing gifts I've been given with hopes of encouraging other cancer warriors to find peace when everything else is out of control.
The training is approved by the Yoga Alliance and is being taught at Decatur Yoga and Pilates with Joe Palese. Joe has been a professional teacher for fourteen years and taught thousands of students, lead numerous Yoga retreats yet his ability to connect on a "soul level while transmitting the principles of Anusara Yoga is an integral foundation of his mission." This course takes place over 10 months and starts February 22, 2014. http://www.decaturhotyoga.com/
Asking for money is difficult for me but with a mountain of medical bills and working in the nonprofit field, any help I receive will be immensely appreciated.
