Jen Sandwich's New Studio!

Hi friends! As most of you know, after returning from hurricane evacuation on Tuesday I discovered that the ceiling in my apartment had fallen during the storm and my apartment flooded. Rain has saturated the walls and the apartment is full of mold. It is no longer inhabitable, and I have been staying in a hotel since the 12th. My landlord has offered me a different apartment in the same building, but there is mold and water damage in that apartment as well. The mold upstairs shows through the walls and can be smelled from outside. The wall in the upstairs hallway is buckled dramatically from water damage - not just from the storm, but from the roof leaking slowly into the walls over the last year. I no longer feel like this building is a safe place for me or Lightning Butt to live. The good news is that I just found another apartment this morning and will be moving in on October 1st! The bad news is that after a year of many financial setbacks, the prospect of replacing things that were damaged in the apartment (among other things, I lost most of my art supplies and have to replace my mattress, sheets and pillows) and paying a security deposit is daunting. Anything you would like to contribute would be greatly appreciated and would be used toward move-in costs and getting my new art studio set up again.
