Fund for Jorge and Kids

We are setting up this fund to help our dear friend Jorge Martinez and his kids.  As many of you know, his nature is to not ask for help - even though he very much needs it right now.  He'd rather work for his money than receive charity, but the situation is dire.  Thank you for taking a moment to read below and see how you can help.


Many of us know how forward looking Jorge is - thinking of the next big idea or opportunity, coming up with events to share with his friends and colleagues, things to do with his kids, his passion for cooking and entertaning, etc.  

A little over two years ago, Jorge's life started going downhill.  He lost his job due to a company reorganization.  His marriage fell on hard times and ended up in divorce.  Jorge then opened a public relations business, but later got taken by a deadbeat client who disappeared owing him much money.  Sadly, he has been doing some special projects here or there, but the work has not been coming in as he expected.  To supplement this significant loss in revenue, Jorge had to tap into his savings and retirement account - leaving him with next to nothing.

Worst of all, Jorge has quietly struggled to pay for basic needs and other responsibilities.  Suffering in silence, we didn't know how bad it has been until now.  He has tried and tired, but things haven't tilted his way recently.  There's a light at the end of the tunnel for him - as it relates to a great work opportunity - but it won't come about until the beginning of next year.

For all of us who know Jorge, we know and see how much his three kids mean to him.  His daughter and two boys are what keep him going.  They are what makes him get up in the morning, and frankly, it's what hasn't let him quit.  

Managing his boys' baseball teams (which is an important part of their lives), cheering his daughter's basketball and other interests, supporting the kids' choir participation, ensuring they're doing well in school, and everything else they do, Jorge is a daily presence in his kids life - even though he has them every other week.  Those three amazing children, as many of us know, are a reflection of Jorge.  They are so well behaved, respectful, full of life and energy, happy, and more.  They do everything together.  Those kids are his priority.  When they are with him, no one and nothing else comes first.   And, those kids love Jorge so very much.  It would be a shame if they lose time with their dad because of this situation.  They need him as much as Jorge needs them. 

Jorge feels like he has let them and other people down, and this has dramatically affected him emotionally.  We know times are tough for many, but we need to band together and help Jorge and his kids.  

As we mentioned above, they are very much in need of your help now.  All funds that you donate will go to cost of living expenses and other related costs.  Our ultimate goal is to get Jorge through this situation until he's back on his feet, bringing in steady income and enjoying his amazing kids and the everyday events that mean so much to him.  Let's join together to help our dear friend.  We need to show him that good people still exists in this world.
