Jeh and Roshan's Irma Fund Relief

Donation protected
Both my daughter and I had our lives abruptly altered due to Hurricane Irma. We both had to evacuate our home due to the destruction sustained throughout our beautiful island of St. John. We left with a few backpacks of clothes viable for warm weather. I was also able to retrieve some of my small tools in my chef bag, thankfully. We decided to go to San Juan where we took refuge for a week with a very warm family who treated us with the most generous compassion. With the threat of Hurricane Maria headed towards the Caribbean, we then had my father purchase plane tickets for us to Santa Cruz, CA. All of these quick sudden decisions has taken us even further away from our home. I also realize that it will be challenging to return to St. John with no promised work due to the destruction. With my ten year old daughter I have it in my mind to find a place in the states to settle for a duration of time. We walked away from most of our personal belongings.

As a few of you know, I have been in the process of starting my own food production business, which was going to tie into my private chef ventures. I have been passionately working on a lot of different recipes, a good portion of them are vegan. Among these recipes is a nice creamy vegan ice cream. Marketing my vegan ice cream has been a passionate goal of mine. I have been in the process, financially, of turning my dreams into reality. Whatever extra financing I had went to  everything from business licensing to buying quality kitchen tools for production. Retrieving these tools would be costly as well, due to shipping and handling. I am currently still eager to work at turning my dreams and passion into reality. I'm not sure exactly where yet, as finding a new place to live wasn't in my plans.

With the right funding right away, I can continue to promote and turn my vision into reality. This will allow Roshan and I to resume the life I worked so hard at building. The reason I have asked for a goal of 20k is to allow me to continue with my business, as well as helping Roshan and I with finding a comfortable place we can call home. Finding a good school is also an important factor with our relocation, as Roshan has always been a very bright member of her school. Transportation is essential as well. My truck was damaged during the hurricane, so it is considered a loss. I currently still owe $2,400 for this truck as well, which I hope the insuraunce company will resolve eventually. But in the scheme of things the payments still need to be made.

We have a had a lot of personal friends reaching out asking how they can help. As many of you know I have a hard time asking for help as I've always been an independent hard working individual. This a way for those who have reached out to us to provide help! Love and blessings!!!
