<div>My name is Carly and I have started this GoFundMe for my father, Jeff, who is currently battling a terminal cancer diagnosis. Around 6 months ago, my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the head and neck, a rare type of cancer that originates from squamous epithelial cells, which are flat, sheet-like cells that line the surfaces of the body, such as the skin, mucous membranes, and internal organs. Since this diagnosis, he has lost his ability to work, eat, speak, and live his everyday life as normal. My dad is in the process of filing for social security disability, but this process is long and we do not see an end in sight.

<div>At the time of this GoFundMe's creation, my fathers life expectancy has reached less than a year. At this time, he has exhausted his monetary funds and is struggling to stay afloat financially. During such a difficult time in his life, the last thing that I want him to worry about are his living expenses. My hope, is to ease this burden, so he can try to focus on finding some joy in his last year of life. We are not people that reach out and ask for money, but I feel that we have run out of options. No one wants to see their parent suffer, especially knowing that their life is fleeting.
