In late 2017, Jeff Ellis suffered a stroke and lost the use of his right arm and much of his right side. For an accomplished musician like Jeff it couldn't be worse. Not only is he unable to play the guitar (yet) but he is physically unable to run his mowing and upholstery businesses. He is making great strides (literally) with lots of physical therapy. But in the meantime, Jordon and Jaret and Jume are keeping the family businesses going. Jeff needs our support because of tremendous medical and physical therapy expenses and lost income.
So, we need the Jeff Ellis community to step up to help our friend.
He has brought us so many magical musical moments in his performances. He has volunteered to play at any fundraiser he was asked to do. He has a heart of gold and now he needs our support because that stroke was a stroke of damn bad luck.
We are throwing a music part for Jeff at the Josephine Sculpture Park on June 23, 2018 5- 11.
This is an all volunteer effort so that all proceeds will go to Jeff. Even the Josephine Sculpture Park is hosting the Jeffest rent free! Because they are awesome!
Here's the stellar musical lineup:
Musicians for Jeff (5- 6:15)
Jeri K. and Nat (6:15 - 7:30)
Ben Sollee and Jordon Ellis (7:30-9:00)
Lions of Mercury (9-10)
Native Invaders (10-11)
Here's how you can help:
1. DONATE any amount of money, large or small, to Jeff here. This will go directly into his checking account and he will be able to use it to pay for physical therapy and other expenses.
2. Buy Tickets to the Jeffest at jeffest.com
3. Be a Sponsor of the Jeffest at jeffest.com
4. Volunteer to help out at the Jeffest
5. Tell all your friends to come for the music at the
Jeffest and to buy their tickets now.
This is an urgent request for our community to help Jeff. Summer is normally his peak season for the landscaping business and that income is now GONE since Jeff cannot work due to his physical disability.
There is no doubt that the Jeffest was a momentous occasion full of love and music and art and friends and family. Wow. Jeff brought us all together with a common goal: to appreciate, to celebrate and to cherish life. And many who couldn’t attend, donated here. And even many who did attend donated here and also gave generously at the gate. We have all been astonished by the generosity of the Jeff community. Jeff and Jume are incredibly touched by what has happened and the money raised will go to pay off bills and to assist with ongoing physical therapy! Thank you thank you thank you!
