Jeffco Vamonos -where the vision hits the road.

Jeffco Vamonos takes low-income and at-risk youth on trips to encourage experiential learning and foster personal growth. With overwhelming support from our community and local business, we have almost fully funded our trips for the 21/22 school year. We just need a small push to complete our goal. This will allow us to take a total of 18 trips, with 3 to 4 kids per adventure, At the end of the year, we will buy groceries and cook new meals for our community.

 

Throughout October, our group traveled from Jefferson county to the Pike Place Market and the International District, exploring culture through food. The kids have been overwhelmingly excited with the opportunity to experience new places and eat new things. For many, this was a maiden voyage into an urban area, and eye opening in many ways. On the way, we discuss the different ways people live and how we can all live together peacefully. The van conversations are magic. We can’t wait to do in again in March.
