On February 26, Jeff had a cancerous tumor removed, along with a large part of his colon. Cancer was also found on his liver and in some lymph nodes. On April 9th Jeff will start chemotherapy for his Stage 4 Cancer. He needs to do 6 rounds of three weeks each, taking him well into the summer. The doctors are optimistic, but healing will take awhile.
Summer is usually Jeff's busy season! As a fishing guide on Leech Lake, the majority of his income is made between May and August.
We do not know what the next months will bring, but the fatigue and compromised immune system from the treatments will most likely prevent him from guiding for a large part of the summer.
Money raised here will go to replace Jeff's loss of income during the season, and to offset any expenses that occur due to his cancer. We, his family, want him to be able to rest easy and fully recover without worry during the next several months. So many of you have asked how you can help. Any amount is truly appreciated.
