Today we all need special prayers for Jeff Rathfon and his wife Morgan. Jeff was born with Polypystic Kidney Disease (Genetic Disease) of both his kidneys. Jeff will be turning 40 at the end of February, and has has a very long struggle to get where he is as of now. Through everything Jeff works as a full time machinest.
Early last year there has been numerous people who came forward and wanted to be tested to be a perfect match for Jeff, so they could donate their kidney and give Jeff a long and healthy future. After such heartache of the results coming back as “not a match”. Jeff’s childhood best friend Tommy Beavers was tested and is “the perfect match”.
Tomorrow morning at 3:00 am Jeff and Morgan will be on their way to the best kidney transplant hospital in Harrisburg PA, and Jeff will be receiving the best gift from his best friend Tommy (his new kidney). There is no thank you big enough for Tommy giving Jeff a chance at a long and healthy future!
Jeff and Morgan were just married 3 1/2 years and are hoping to add children to their family.
Here is where we need your help. Jeff will be out of work for at least 6 months, due that is normal recovering time. Morgan will be out of work during Jeff’s hospital stay to be with her husband till she can bring him home. Once Jeff is released from ICU he will be transferred to another room till he is discharged to come home. Morgan will be staying in a hotel when she can’t be with Jeff.
Morgan will then be going back to work, but will need to take off 2 days a week to transport Jeff back to Harrisburg for testing.
We are asking for any donations, no donation is too small. If you would like to donate gas cards for their trips to Harrisburg or gift cards to eat on the run you may forward them to me, and I’ll deliver them to Jeff and Morgan. For the first 3 months Jeff’s medication for his kidney will be $3000.00 per month out of his pocket, and we would be so blessed to be able to help them ease a little stress in finances so Jeff can solely focus on his recovery.
