Jeff McClure Memorial Fund

Jeffrey Michael McClure Sr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many, passed unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, September 6th.  A lover of the outdoors, Jeff could always be found by the water: soaking up the sun with a fishing line out waiting for a bite.  Though this was only one of his many joys, it is analogous to his view on life in general.  As calm and relaxed as he was, Jeff always searched for a new adventure.  There was no stopping him from living every day to the fullest, and he never hesitated to offer an invitation to others to come along for the ride.

If there was one word to describe Jeff, it would be “friend.”  As a devoted member of The Club Above, he served as a figure of recovery and hope for those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.  Every week, Jeff took the time to provide support and a helpful perspective on living an enjoyable life through sobriety.  So many people looked up to him, for good reason, and his kind words and zest for life will remain an inspiration for everyone who knew him.

Under Jeff’s occupation on Facebook, he listed “I do it all,” and this couldn’t be more true.  He worked tirelessly in construction to help provide for his wife of 26 years, Athena (Tina), and his family.  Jeff just couldn’t say “no,” so in addition to working full time, he constantly worked on the side helping his friends and family with their home renovation projects.

Along with incredible pain and grief, losing a loved one doesn’t come without financial burden.  Jeff’s loving wife, though she herself works full time, relied on him to afford all of the expensive necessities of life.  It is no secret that memorial services are costly, but it is often ignored that financial obligation does not slow down after the death of a spouse.  To help support Jeff’s grieving wife and family, we are asking for donations to help fund his funeral service and any immediate costs of living that would otherwise be very difficult to afford in these times.  We understand that everyone struggles with money.  So, if you knew Jeff and aren’t able to donate, we encourage you to share this fundraiser with those in your community.  Any kind words, memories, or photos are also appreciated, as remembering Jeff for the man he was is the most helpful thing to lift his family’s spirits.

Thank you all, regardless of if you donate or not, for reading this and being a part of Jeff’s life.  We are sure that he loved everyone he spent his time with, and he will always be there proudly watching over you, waiting for you to cast your line and reel in a better memory every day.
