His heart.
When our Dad left this world unexpectedly back in May, these things were the center of so many stories we heard about him. These stories and the people that told them were such a gift to us in the midst of our grief.
Our family has spent the last few months trying to process a life without Dad. The combination of that shock, an additional sudden death in the family and the stress of trying to sort out life insurance policy issues, that we have recently discovered have been denied, has left us all reeling. Because Dad's death was so unexpected, there were no plans in place detailing arrangements or an estate to cover the costs thereof.
Though not a materially wealthy man, Dad was always quick to do anything he could to help anyone he could. We are believing that the generosity of spirit that he chose to show in life will return to him as we work through several different options for helping cover his end of life expenses.
In addition to the friends and neighbors that circled around us as we said goodbye to Dad, we drew strength from meeting the people that had developed meaningful relationships with during his time working with the prison ministry and from his church family.
It is in this spirit of drawing from community that we humbly ask that you would consider supporting our family by making a donation to help us pay off this large debt. Any funding that we receive above the costs of funeral expenses will be given to the Beyond the Bars ministry that Dad so dearly loved.
