In Memory of Jeff Evans – A Million-Metre Ride for a Remarkable Man

Hi, my name is Richard Hardy, and this June, I’ll be cycling over a million metres (mostly indoors!) in memory of someone truly special – my close friend, mentor, and role model, Jeff, who sadly passed away on 20th April 2025.

Jeff’s passing has left a huge void in all our lives. He was a man of great integrity, positivity, and strength – someone who truly lived by example. Whether through his career as a First Class Cricket Umpire for over 20 years, his work as a rugby coach and PE teacher, or simply through his unwavering commitment to health and fitness, Jeff inspired everyone around him to be their best.

His sudden illness shocked us all – especially given how dedicated he was to healthy living and keeping active. It’s a reminder of how precious and unpredictable life can be.

To honour Jeff’s memory and raise money for a cause that reflects his values, I’ll be cycling 1,000,000 metres between 1st and 27th June 2025. That’s over 620 miles – a challenge I know Jeff would have wholeheartedly supported (and probably joined in on!).

If you are able to make a donation however small it would be gratefully appreciated and will go directly to a charity chosen in Jeff’s memory. Please support this tribute to a truly remarkable man and help us keep Jeff’s spirit alive through something he believed in deeply: challenging ourselves, staying active, and supporting others.

Diolch Yn Fawr/Thank you for your support – it means the world.
