Jedikayle Serna for Miss Filipina International

Kamusta na po kayong lahat! My name is Jedikayle Serna and I am 19 years old from Hayward, CA. Recently, I have been selected as an official candidate for the 9th Annual MISS FILIPINA INTERNATIONAL (MFI), one of the most prestigious Filipino pageants, which will be held at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, Redondo Beach, CA in July 2022. The goal of MFI is to showcase and highlight the beauty, intellect, and cultural pride of today's young Filipina. It is a pageant in search of those special young women in today's Filipino communities around the globe with the beauty, grace and dynamic personalities and intelligence that set them apart from the rest. MFI has a unique status as the only Filipino beauty pageant in the US with tourism promotion as its fundamental core value, and holds the distinction of being the only Filipino pageant to be nationally and globally televised on TFC in each of its seven years of existence.

 

To tell you a little bit about myself, I am an aspiring scientist in my second year of college aiming to acquire my B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. In the future, I hope to be a research scientist with a specialty in marine life or evolution hoping to discover more about the changing world around us. In addition to that, I am extremely passionate about education and I would love to start my own non-profit organization in the future that provides children and teens in developing countries all over the world with the necessary educational supplies, specialty programs, classes, etc. alongside a general education in order to jump start a career or further education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) pathways.

 

Besides my immense love for science, I love to spend my free time expressing my creativity in art whether that is through painting or trying various makeup looks. I am a lover of exploring and I want to be able to try and see everything in the world! I enjoy visiting new places with my friends and family and doing every single thing possible because I live for experiences, ESPECIALLY trying new foods and different cuisines.

 

Being a part of this pageant will allow me to promote my goals and dreams and allow me to serve as a role model in the Filipino community as I will be given the opportunity to motivate others and be a symbol of power and resilience, but also be given the experience to learn more about my roots as a strong Filipina woman. My main aspiration is to be able to make a positive impact and holding this international title will allow me to showcase the true drive and strength that a Filipina woman holds and show off the beautiful culture for all of us to embrace. Additionally, I will be given a platform to voice my beliefs and inspire young Filipina girls all over the world :)
