Funding For The Aftermath Of Cancer

Jeannette Consor, my mother has been going through a very challenging time in her life over the last few years. At 62, she was diagnosed stage 3 breast cancer. After rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and a double mastectomy, she beat this disease. Cancer alone was an extremely hard thing for her to overcome, but what has been worse are the after effects of the chemotherapy and radiation that have since affected her for the last few years. Due to her inability to work and hard time gaining strength, my mother, who is one of the hardest working people I know, has found herself in a very upsetting position. She has since lost her home, friends, self-esteem, and most importantly, her happiness. Physically, she has lost almost half of her teeth due to effects of the chemo/radiation. Unfortunately, her health insurance company doesn't deem cosmetic dentistry as a medical necessity and moreover the Baylor College of Dentistry won't take her case on because it's too severe. We are still on the hunt for government funded dentistry for people in her position but for now, helping to raise money to fund her privately is the only option. It's heartbreaking for me because on top of losing her breast, teeth and home, her ability to eat the foods she likes or even smile confidently is hindered. I am trying to raise money to help her, starting with her teeth so she can first smile like she used to. This is only the beginning of getting my mother back into health and happiness. Thank you for your support and I hope we can make this happen.
