Jeanne's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Jeanne had a Diffuse Fibrillary Astrocytoma Stage 2 in March 2016. She had it removed surgically 3/18/16 via Craniotomy w/ Resection of Tumor. She got referred to Duke Medical Center in April 2016. Jeanne has been going for repeat MRIs and follow-ups w/ her Oncologist. In Feb 2018 a "blush" started to show up they wanted to watch. On the Aug 30, 2018 MRI a 2cm Glioblastoma showed up. Pathology confirmed such a tumor. A return was made Sept 26 to f/u with the Oncologist and figure out the next steps. Quite a bit was discussed. Duke would like 5-day radiation and 7-day chemo pills x6 weeks. However, since Jeanne lives 2.5 hrs away from Duke, she has chosen to be treated in Wilmington, NC. She went back to Duke Dec. 21 for f/u MRI and Oncologist appt. MRI showed a "void" where the tumor is/was. Jeanne was told this is normal after 6 weeks of treatments. She is still meeting with her medical onc, neuro onc, and radiation oncologist. Next step is a year of chemo pills of the same kind she took during treatment except these are almost 3 times the dosage amount. She takes for 5 days on, 23 off, has bloodwork done, and goes from there. Please keep Jeanne and her family in your thoughts and prayers. If you are able to contribute to them it would be appreciated. Thank you.
