A Chaver's Medical Fund

This past year has been a particularly challenging year for my friend. He is in his mid 30's, married with 3 young children, with severe Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. This condition is extremely painful and debilitating with painful skin sores and inflamed joints. At times this has caused him to be bed ridden and unable to work. Last year he suffered tremendously from side effects to an injection that has helped in the past, but this time caused a negative reaction. He has been hospitalized numerous times due to this debilitating illness.
The doctors have found an injection which they administered while he was hospitalized called Enbrel which seems to be working wonders for him! The insurance has denied coverage for this. We are working closely with his doctor to appeal the denial.  This is a long and arduous journey and time is of essence!
The cost for the Enbrel injection is around $750 per injection, which is needed twice weekly. He will need over $15,000 to cover this and other expenses incurred while not working. Insurance is not paying for his badly needed medication​. The family is appealing that, but until then, he needs a shot called Embrel twice a week, which costs $750 per shot.  The funds are going directly to this person.​  My friend is in tremendous debt, having an accumulation of many medical expenses and is unable to cover the cost for these injections.
