I never thought I would be one to start one of these for myself. I am usually a strong, independent woman who never really asks for help. I'm sure those who truly know me well would agree. But here I am. So, here's my story.
At the beginning of the year, I found out I had type 2 diabetes. Then, in March, I started a new job from home. During training in April, I got very sick from COVID and had "long COVID" symptoms. In May, I had to put my cat down of 16 years together. I had some struggles and setbacks during the summer. In August during a CT Scan for something else, I found out I had a kidney stone. My first. Then in September I lost my (step)grandmother. In November, I had to go to the ER after waking from sleep from extreme flank pain, and was told that was from my stone. I had a repeat CT where I found out the stone moved slightly, but was a little bigger. Also discovered was 3 masses. Two on ovary area, and one lower. I am currently under going investigation scans and appointments for those. But now, this week, I under went a procedure to break up and remove the kidney stone and have a stent placed. Ever since, nothing but complications. So now, as I'm doing this, I'm laying in a hospital bed being treated for a kidney infection. May get out in a day or two, depending on how I progress.
I have missed so much work this year and cannot use FMLA due to policy of needing to work a full year first. I'm being threatened to lose my job due to high amounts of missed work. I do have an open Short term disability case, but no answer yet.
So thank you for reading my long story. I just ask, please, to give as much (even if just a little) as you can. I've had one hell of a year! Thank you very much! ~Cassie
