Situation: In Liberia the climate is tropical, hot and humid all year round, with a rainy season from May to October, due to the African monsoon. Kids travel in the rain daily to go to school. There are no real sidewalks in certain areas, therefore their feet as well as their bodies get soaked. They then have to sit in wet clothes and shoes during the day.
Solution: It takes a village, so we need your help! We would like to provide seasonal wraps to 150 boys and girls. This includes boots and ponchos. Your donation will help us reach our goal to support kids who simply don't have the means to do so on their own ($15 will buy a poncho) and ($10 will buy rain boots).
Who we Are:
Since 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has implemented programs of service impacting countless lives. The Eta Beta Omega Chapter was established in 1957 in Liberia after a group led by Mrs. Anna E. Cooper petitioned the 1954 governing body of AKA for a charter. We are currently 29 members strong with a goal of service to mankind.
The ladies of Eta Beta Omega chapter of AKA are grateful that you are willing to help us. All funds collected will be used in Monrovia to purchase items locally. We will deliver the raingear in May right as the rainy season starts. We thank you so much...
