Justice for Piper

On September 3, 2018 I took my beagle, Piper to the dog park as I have many times before, as she loves to play her friends there. I had no idea what to come was going to be the worst day of our lives. I had to witness the most traumatic, heart breaking attack by another dog to Piper. She was viciously mauled by another dog. As she was being thrown in the air, it took multiple people to pull this attack dog off of my sweet girl. By the time the attack was over, I can tell there was a lot of damage to her stomach. I had a good Samaritan help me pick her up and drove my car to the nearest emergency vet hospital, as I was too shaken up and traumatized to drive myself.
She had emergency surgery to her abdominal wall including her small intestines, pancreas and stomach. She is still in critical care, and unfortunately has developed pancreatitis as a result to the severe trauma and surgery. She is the strongest dog I have ever met, and she is pulling thru as we speak although she is not out of the critical zone yet. With the vet bills pilling up, the owners of the dog are not taking responsibility financially. I only want to focus on my sweet Piper girl coming home, and not have the financial burden of having to pay the bill on my own. The way things are looking, I may have to take legal action on top of all of this.
I fostered Piper 6 years ago and at the time she was fighting heartworm and shotgun shrapnel injuries. She pulled thru then just as she is doing her best to pull thru now. She has brought a smile to anyone who has met her as she is the sweetest, kindest dog I know. She has been the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I need her home soon.
Like most people, I don't like to have to ask for help, but anything you can give would be a tremendous help in this awful,traumatizing situation.
