In Loving Memory Of Gene Wilson

Dear friends and family,  we are reaching out to you; asking for help for our mother, Irene Schmidt, who’s unexpectedly lost her fiance, Gene "Jeep" Wilson. For 21 years they built and shared a life together. Gene was such a great person who cared for many and in return, was cared for by many.  Most importantly, he loved our mother with all his heart.   Gene had a massive third stroke on August 2, 2018, which subsequently affected the right side of his brain. Unfortunately for Gene, the previous two strokes affected the left side of his brain.  He was pushing through physical, occupational, and speech therapy five days a week at Community Hospital North. He had been improving little by little every day, and was expected to be coming home.  While Gene was rehabbing, he sufferred a fourth stroke early morning September 5, 2018 and passed away shortly thereafter.  Our mother was right there by his side every single day; never omitting a single one.  Less than two years ago while Mom and Gene were working full time, the first stroke occured. Due to partial paralysis on his right side Gene was unable to return to work at Teds Aqua Marine. Our mother was caring for him full time while trying to maintain her employment. Due to the extended time off, she lost her job as well. Gene was able to recieve disability and obtained life insurance. However, per policy requirments payments must be paid for two years befor our mother could recieve the funds to cover funeral expenses, medical bills ect. if anything were to happen.  He had only been paying on it less than a year when he passed.   And since they were not legally married, she will not receive any continued benefits. We created this fund in hope and faith of raising enough money so our mother can give her fiancé the services he deserves and to alleviate my financial stress that will occur these next few months.
