Art & Marlene Wells Recovery Fund

My grandparents, Arthur and Marlene Wells, were on their way home from Mt Moriah church in Smithfield, OH the night of 12/23/14 when another driver went left of center.  They were struck with such extreme force that the car rolled over before coming to a stop.

When paramedics and police arrived at the scene they worked quickly to free both Art and Marlene from the car.  Marlene was help out of the car and assessed by paramedics but my grandfather had to be cut from the car due to the severity of his injuries.

After being life-flighted to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA they found significant breaks in both his legs, a compound fracture in his left arm, a total of 7 broken ribs, both his knees were dislocated, a broken sternum, and fractured left cheekbone.  My grandmother had a fractured foot, a broken arm, a broken clavicle, broken scapula, and numerous burns on her arms from the airbag deployment.

Arthur is being cared for in ICU by an extrordinary team of doctors and nurses that are working tirelessly to put him back together.  We are working very close with them to ensure that he is given the best care and that he is able to recover fully as soon as possible.  Marlene is is a patient room at UPMC as well and is starting the process of physical therapy to get back on her feet.
