J Bikes Across the USA for Cancer

I've had this trip on my bucket list for quite some time. My Grandfather Tom Yandell was a cyclists for many years. He's rode all over this country for different reasons. One of the many rides he's taken part in, were those that were to raise money for the Children's Cancer Research.
My Grandfather has always inspired me, whether it be taking me out for breakfast at the local McDonald's or sharing his wisdom with me on issues that matter most. That inspiration has given me this dream and I can't think of any better way to honor him than with this.
All funds raised will go towards the Children's Cancer Research Fund as well as gear and goods needed for the trip.
The reason I chose the Children's Cancer Research Fund is not only because it is what my Grandfather rode for on many occasions but because it is such a devastating disease. Affecting so many not only in our own country but across the world.
My goal in doing this ride is not only to make it from point A to point B and or to simply raise awareness for Cancer. It's to raise money to fight it. It's about taking action against a disease that shouldn't be so prevalent in our society.
The Goals -
Fundraising - To raise money for The Children's Cancer Research Fund, a premier organization doing remarkable research in the name of cancer research. Also, for the trip itself. I personally am not equipped to try something like this with solely my own financing. So, I'm humbly asking for help in that area as well. I will be purchasing some necessary bike equipment for the trip such as additional tires, travel stove, water bottles, extra chain, spare spokes, a tent and my flight home from San Francisco. Just to name a few.
The Tour - My goal is to ride my bicycle from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to the front gates of Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor (A.k.a. "The BIG House") with my good friend Logan by my side. There we will meet friends and family and hopefully celebrate not only the completion of the journey but the funds we raised during the course of the year. Each benchmark we accomplish will get us farther in our journey.
