Sullie's Surgery

Donation protected
Sullie is an 8 month old Old English Sheepdog.  She was purchased at a flea market from a back yard breeder.  She was purchased by someone in rescue, along with her brother, because the 2 of them were weak and not thriving. They both obviously needed medical intervention.

On Christmas Day 12/25/14, Sullie went outside to "potty."  We heard screaming/whimpering and found Sullie cowering in the bushes, unable to move.  On 12/26/14, she went to Rocky Creek Animal Hospital.  X-rays revealed 3 fractures to her femur.  The vet informed us that splinting will not heal these types of fractures so far up on the femoral bone.  Surgery is needed to give her quality of life.  The surgery estimate is at least 2200.00 and may run up to 2500.00 if they endure any complication.

I debated on posting this.  There are shelter animals dying daily that NEED our pledges and support.  I felt selfish at first for even considering it.  We have helped many unwanted animals.  We have donated, physically cared for, fostered, adopted loving family members that people turned their backs on.  And we will not stop.  We WANT to continue to help.  Obviously, this will set us back a pretty decent amount.

A little about our furries: 2.5 years ago, a pit bull named Sampson came into our lives.  He was marked for euthanasia at the shelter due to a broken/partially shattered femur from a gun shot wound.  We adopted him and incurred all expenses to treat him.  Fast forward a year - a 4 pound Pom/Chi named Cocoa was surrendered to us.  Later that day we found out he was poisined.  We fought to save him, and did.  Whether putting dogs through heart worm treatment, mending them physically or emotionally, we have and will.

Now about Sullie :)  This girl is a huge teddy bear, truly a gentle giant.  I have never come across a dog with a sweeter disposition than her.  even with her injuries, her tail still wags and she still smiles.  She's a real trooper.  She is currently spending the weekend at Rocky Creek animal Hospital for pain management.  She is receiving IV Morphine with the hope of surgery on Monday.

I do not want to guilt anyone into helping by any means.  IF you would like to donate, we would appreciate it more than you would ever know.  If unable to, prayers will be a huge blessing too!!!!  This will help us to continue to fight for other animals!

Thank you for taking the time to read Sullie's story!
