I'm swallowing what little pride I have left.
I lost my job in September, and have been looking all over the country for a new one. I have spent typically 10 hours a day looking for places to apply and applying for appropriate positions (FYI, I have been an excellent IT Manager/Director for about 14 years). I've been working at an Ace hardware for minimum wage. As of the first of December our health insurance(cobra) expired. Debra could no longer get the medicines she been on for years (she is disabled and in constant excruciating pain even with all the medication, one of which is morphine). About a week ago we finally got through the worst of the withdrawal for the morphine she's no longer able to take... What an UGLY 2 weeks that was!!! We have been keeping food on the table and the power on etc including the rent.. Until December. On Christmas Eve, our landlord informed us we had until the 31st to come up with our rent, or we were out. (Side note, it's impossible to rent a lesser house or apartment when you don't have a job lol) In this area, a hand delivered notice of eviction is followed up within 4 days by the sheriff to physically remove you. I have $200 of the required $1400 that is due this coming Thursday. (This doesn't count the next $1400 due on the 1st of January).
So I Am asking for help, please donate a little or a lot, it will add up. I'm out of options. What is donated will be used for the rent if I get enough, otherwise it will be used to try and get a storage unit to store at least some of our belongings until I can get a real job to fully support my family. If you will PLEASE leave your contact information I will find a way to pay you back as soon as I can even if it's a little at a time.
A quick note, I DO have a good lead on a good position, but they are moving very slowly through the holiday season.. I truly believe they are interested in me and I have a good chance of landing the job... But I'm afraid it's just moving too slow for my immediate needs.
