Now 60, Joseph emigrated to US 13 years ago. Recently he was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis (cancer of the bone marrow). He lost his job in June, because the disease has taken its toll on him, and he is not as capable as before. Living alone, he is unable to pay his rent.
