Tragedy Strikes Family

Tragedy struck this small family with inexplicable heartache and grief when Jason Jacob Knelsen (Jay) passed away unexpectedly on August 15, 2018. Alanna and their two small children, lost not only their dad, hero and best friend, but their supporter both emotionally and financially.
If their was only one thing I could tell you about Jay it would be how much love he had for his children. Jay would brag about how many fish they could catch, or how they liked ripping around on atv's while camping, or watching his son score a winning goal. Jay would beam with pride at the mention of their names. When at home Jay would rarely be seen without his little girl in his arms. He will be missed so very much.
We hope to raise funds to help ease some of the immediate financial burden placed upon this family as Jay was the primary breadwinner and Alanna has been left to pay everything, from all of the mortgage payments to household bills to transportation cost etc... Balcaen Consolidated Contracting Ltd., Jays employer, very graciously has stepped forward to cover the cost of his funeral. We can’t thank them enough.
Understandably we are not all in a position to financially give at this time, so all we ask is that you kindly share this fundraising page with your friends and family.
Update: On September 14th, we lost our dad. She was driving him home to Quesnel when he started struggling to breath. The ambulance met them on the highway. In the hospital his condition got progressively worse.
Alanna and her father, Duane Wertz were very close, making time for frequent visits despite the distance. The children greatly enjoyed his small hobby farm and would frequently be seen playing a game of cards with him.
This has been an incredibly difficult short period of time for Alanna. She could use your help, please!
