<div> My name is Kamel Shahwan, a 26-year-old Palestinian engineer from

<div> Gaza. I now live in Vienna, Austria, studying for my master’s degree.

<div> safe, but carrying the unbearable weight of knowing my loved ones

<div> are trapped in Gaza.
</div>
<div> While I sit in safety, my parents and four sisters: Balsam, Wasan,

<div> Malak and Dana are struggling just to stay alive.
</div>
<div> They are not soldiers. Not politicians. They are an innocent family
</div>
<div> who once lived in a warm, happy home. Now, the only wish is the

<div> simplest one of all: to survive another day.

<div> Before the war, our house was filled with love and laughter. My

<div> father worked hard to provide for us; my mother baked bread with
</div>
<div> care, and my sisters dreamed of their futures like any children should.

<div> Today, that life is a memory.
</div>
<div> Since October, my family has been forced from their home again and
</div>
<div> again, to Deir al-Balah, then Nuseirat, then Rafah, back to our
</div>
<div> damaged home, and once more to Deiral-Balah.
</div>
<div> Now, they live in a torn tent, where rainwater mixes with sewage.
</div>
<div> They often go to bed hungry, with nothing to eat for days. Drones
</div>
<div> circle above, bombings shake the ground, and my sisters whisper to
</div>
<div> each other at night, trying to silence their fear.
</div>

<li>My father, once our strong protector, now stares into the distance with hollow, hopeless eyes.

<li>My mother, who once kneaded dough with love, now crushes animal feed into flour, just to make bread that will keep her children alive.
