I am making this GO FUND ME account for my brother Casey Lynn. If you live on St. John or lived there at some point i bet you can say casey has lent you or someone you know a helping hand. Days leading up to the cat 5 hurricane IRMA , casey worked day and night helping anyone who asked for his help in boarding up their home. Casey chose to do this rather then spending all that time on his house . He is the type of guy that puts everyones needs before his own. It was a exhausting week for him, but he never complained. The day before the hurricane hit casey woke up before the sunrise to secure the my apartment and the house above me. I know i drove him crazy all day! Following him around asking "Is this going to hold? How about we get more sand bags? Should we stay somewhere else? Are we even going to survive?" He never got annoyed with me . He assured me that we are together and we will be fine but that it would be scarey. Right he was, as the hurricane hit us we heard the roof blow off upstairs and we took cover in my plywood closet. Not long after that casey went out into the storm to rescue our friends upstairs and their dogs. Then not long after that he rescued a father and his sons runnuing down the street and put them in a near by building . Casey always puts others safety before his own. As the days passed, we were able to drive across the island to check his place out. The roads were covered in power lines and some parts of the roads were gone. We saw landslides and empty hillsides that once had beautiful homes on them. I start to worry about if his place was ok.....Unfortunatly as we arrived our hearts sanked.....Caseys place that he buildt on his own and 20 years of his life gone !! His belongs blown away on the hillsides next to his house . His heart shattered beyond repair. What was once his "Island Dream Home" stood a pile of wood. If you know casey , you know he LOVED HIS PLACE! Everything he did there he did himself. Casey literally walked away with one surfboard and the one change of clothes he brought to my house. Its hurts me beyond words to see him at such a great loss . If there was ever anything anyone needed , including myself casey would be the man to make sure you had it. I know we all are at major losses right now, but if there is anything i can do to help my bother or brothers , i will . So i'm starting this GOFUND ME to help my bother rebuild his life and his home. PLEASE HELP ME TO HELP HIM. I know if he had to do it all over again , he would still help everyone else close up their homes before his own.
