LEARNING HOW TO LISTEN

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my first funding campaign page. For the past 3 years I have worked with the pianist Jobic Le Masson on an idea that has always very dear to my heart, music and communication. As a duo our goal was not only to have fun making beautiful music, (which we have) but also to explore our listening and response capabil-ities in the context of jazz improvisation-learning how to listen. Now we feel it is time to record this experience. We have started the process but funds are limited and we need more studio time, plus the pressing and design. Your help will be much appreciated.

Over the years I have worked in prisons, with children, teenagers-on-the-edge, adults, people with mental ability challenges and pensioners. My community work has always revolved around music because of its ability to ease pain and open terrain.  Music has been my preferred tool for community work. I have been enriched by that experience and I carry that into my performances, So it is no wonder that "Conversations" is my project now, something well and truly need in this our world.

Thank you for your assistance.

P.S. I live in Paris, so if you are near or in town and have chosen "Gold" or "Big Ears" we can have a singing lesson face to face instead of by Skype.

P.P.S. Here is a link to one of our live shows, in a small club, a song we did without rehearsal, to challenge ourselves, our listening skills.

Thanks again
Gwen
