Jay Needs Surgery!

Hello All,
Thank you for all of your help in sharing and helping us find Jay. He is only 4 months old and is the most amazing little dude.
Jay escaped my parents yard in Franklin Square, NY on Monday (7/14) evening and was found in a crate in the back of a liquor store in Wantagh across the street from an animal shelter. As you know it was raining Monday evening, into Tuesday. Unfortunately, Jay is hurt, the vet says he was hit by a car and has a compound fracture in his hind leg which requires specialized surgery.
The cost for the surgery is estimated at $5000. He needs pins and surgical plates plus some extra help with healing. My mother was attacked by a dog in April of 2015 and this is the first dog she has gotten close to since almost losing her life. We are still in the process of going through her medical bills as well as other financial obligations.
Jay is not only our pet but our family. He has helped our family heal in more ways than one and now we need to fix him up.
