Jaymie went to the hospital in the afternoon on Tuesday, Sept 18th, 2018 complaining of a migraine. In a matter of hours, a large tumor was identified on her brain and surgery was scheduled. On Friday, Sept 21st, that tumor was safely removed but further medical testing revealed that Jaymie has a rare childhood cancer known as Ependymoma. She is scheduled to start radiation and chemotherapy in the coming days. Anyone who knows Jaymie, knows that she is a friend to everyone. Her bubbly personality and sense of humor light up a room; EVERYONE has more fun when Jaymie is there. The recent discovery of Jaymie’s brain tumor has not dampened her personality - her spirit continues to shine following the surgery and her diagnosis. We have recently learned that the family’s medical insurance will still require them to pay a portion of the expenses. Jaymie has brought so much joy and laughter to her friends, their parents, her teachers, coaches, and anyone else who crosses her path. We have a chance to help a wonderful young woman and her family by alleviating some, if not all, of the financial burden associated with her treatment and recovery. Please donate what you can. Your continued prayers are also appreciated. In addition to or in lieu of a monetary donation, you can also help the family by preparing a meal for them during this stressful time.
