Jayden's Medical/Funeral Expenses
Two months ago, my nephew, Jayden, 16, was involved in a vehicular accident which involved another family member and his younger brother Jaquan. Jaquan sustained some visible injuries to his leg and shoulder but, Jayden did not. He complained of some pain and discomfort in his head and arm and was taken to the doctor. After visiting the doctor we were told that he had no injuries and that there was nothing to be concerned about. However, there was...it later became apparent that Jayden sustained internal injuries.
This manifested itself during Thankgiving Week and on Thanksgiving Day he was rushed to the hospital after some erratic behaviour and more complaints about headaches. It was discovered that his right brain was severely damaged and that he had gotten a stroke. He had no functionality on his left side, his eye became swollen and things just began spiraling down. CT scans prompted an emergency surgery in the hope of saving his life.
Efforts were made and we were trying to raise necessary funds to aid in airlifting Jayden out of Dominica to Martinque or another island where he could have received better care for his brain injury. But, things did not work out. His injury had reached a state that did not allow us the opportuntiy to have him airlifted.
Jayden passed away quietly on Friday, December 2nd, 2016 ( 9 days before his 17th birthday).
My family had hoped for a better outcome. We had hoped that he would have survived and with therapy be restored to normal health ...the the happy-go-lucky, life loving Jayden we all knew and loved. The ultimate plan was different. He had to leave us. We are saddened, shocked and in pain.
We are still in need of your support. Funds raised will be used to support the cost of medical services and funeral expenses. Any amount you could spare will go a long way and we will be eternally grateful for it.
When I last saw Jayden the typical teenager, full of life and energy. We had a very good conversation and I dropped him off at school the next morning. He seemed ok and I was very proud to see him neatly dressed heading to school. I never knew that I that would have been the last time I would have seen him alive. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would be here, asking for your assistance with regard to Jayden. Everthing has happened so fast for my family....and we are trying to understand it all.
Your financial support, your kind words and your constant prayers will be sincerely apprecaited.
Thank you! May God bless you all!
