Hello,
I’m Jayden Cummings, a 17-year-old junior at Emeryville High School in California and alum of The Hidden Genius Project.
I'm raising $3,000 to help pay for my upcoming trip to Washington, D.C. so I can participate in the Congressional App Challenge #HouseOfCode Ceremony on March 24th — a contest where the U.S. House of Representatives hosts district-wide contests for middle school and high school students, encouraging them to learn to code and inspiring them to pursue careers in computer science.
I was recently recognized as the winner of Congresswoman Barbara Lee's District (CA-13) for my social media management platform that I coded from scratch called iBlinkco. Over the last 2 years, my passion for creating technology and computer science has grown tremendously and I'm determined to showcase my tech project in person in Washington, D.C., while representing my family, my brothers and sisters, and my community.
This will also be my first time visiting the nation's capital and it is my hope that I can stay in D.C. a few extra days so I can visit some of the national monuments, especially the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial and tour Howard University.
