Jayda's Education Fund

Kassandra Lorraine Fairhall
passed away suddenly at home in Bracebridge, on Friday, February 9th, 2018. Age 26 years.

The news came as a devastating shock for all those who knew and loved her, especially to her young daughter, Jayda. Kassandra was a student finishing her final year of studies and was just beginning her field placement in the graphic design industry.
Our hope is that we can rally together as friends, family and community to raise funds to set aside money for Jayda's future, so that she can continue to access opportunities and education.

Reflections and wishes from her friends:

"Kassie was a very important person in my life. She was my first friend at school, and the first person I would go to for any advice. Kassie had the brightest smile, and made me laugh every single day. She was hardworking, motivated and smart. Everyday she would come into class, with a huge smile on her face and ready to take on whatever our teachers threw at us.
Most people at school knew her as jokester in class (she was always cracking cracking jokes). But only few knew her as the loving and caring mother, who wanted nothing but the best for her daughter.
About a month or so ago, Kassie mentioned to me that she was going to start an education fund for Jayda. I don't think she got the chance to start this fund as we just started our placements and started the next chapter in our careers and schooling.
It was so important to her to make sure Jayda had some money set aside for her education and future.
Please Help Jayda get a head start"  -Jocelyn Foster

"Kassandra was a work of art in progress, just like us all, except she shone a special light of kindness on everyone, especially to me. She always greeted you with a smile, and if she was having a bad day, you wouldn't know because we would just end up laughing it off. She was a hard-working mom, girlfriend, and student. How she balanced raising a child, being a sweet girlfriend, working, and doing all the homework always left me in amazement. She was a hard worker, and treated every opportunity with care and excellency. She was creative in every project she was given and it showed, in her paintings, in her designs, in her photos, in her learning. If she wasn't at a class, everyone would ask "Where is Kassandra? Is she okay?" We would know when she wasn't present. She always had a way of brightening up anyone's day. She was always a ray of sunshine and sweet lady. Saying that she will be missed is an understatement. She will be dearly missed and cherished, and will be forever influencing my designs. I hope to walk across that podium this June in honour of her. "Kass, Kassie, Kassandra,
You were taken from your dear friends and family all too soon. You were so active in trying to piece your life together, which every one of us simply admired, Kass.
Big and small, our lives cross and intersect, to such an extent that we don’t even recognize the impact we have on eachother. We become desensitized to what we have, right in front of us. Which was a fantastic and beautiful friend. And it pains my heart to know that I didn’t, and now cannot express just how much you meant to all of us.
I hope, and know, that Jayda, Cameron, and the rest of your family will be surrounded in nothing but love from the people around them.
You will never be forgotten Kass. Because you warmed so many hearts by laughter, and by simply being there.
Love you forever, Kass, and please, rest in peace ❤️"  -JJ Graham

"Kassandra was an amazing person. I got the privilege of meeting her 3 years ago when we both joined the Graphic Design program at Georgian. I have always known her to be such a fun loving person with an upbeat personality and a contagious laugh. You always knew when Kass was in the room cause she just had a way of letting her personalty shine where ever she was. She was extremely fun to to be around and made anyone in her presents feel welcome. I remember year one we were grouped together for an assignment and the whole process of working on it was full of laughs, good conversation and pure fun. She made every situation enjoyable no matter what it was. I am so thankful to have gotten to know her and honoured to be able to call her my friend. Just from the 3 short years of knowing her, I learned what a hard worker, motivated person, and amazing Graphic Designer she was. She always took on every task she was given with determination and strength no matter how busy life got, and I’ve always admired her for that. She was a beautiful soul and will definitely be missed by so many people."   -Jasmine Lourenco

"For those who knew Kass, she was always smiling no matter what she was going through and always knew how to make you laugh especially the times when we shouldn’t be laughing during class. When Chloe and I made the decision to sit in the same pod as you, Jocelyn and JJ, we didn’t know that that would be the start to an amazing friendship. I’m so happy that we became friends and we often talked about how we wished we would have met each other from the beginning and I wish we did because we would have shared so much more memories then the ones that I already have but since we couldn’t I’ll treasure the ones that we created all together as friends. You will truly be missed and the class won’t be the same without you and your bright smile." ❤ -Taja Burnett
