Jay’s Medical & Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
I am reaching out to you on the behalf of the Class of ‘87 for someone who made a lasting impact on so many lives, someone who never had an enemy, and never met a stranger. You hear it said that the true measure of a person is what others say about them when they are not around. Jay Williams is a rarity in this world... someone who would never say a negative word about others, and never had a negative word said about him. Jay’s infectious giggle will forever echo in the locker room of the Fighting Badgers and in the halls of the Merkel school buildings.
We all have ‘Jayba’ stories that we have shared with so many others. I will never forget the look on my oldest son’s face when he was actually able to meet Jay and I told him... “this is the legendary Jayba the Hut you have heard so much about.’” Jay giggled, of course, and did not disappoint. Those of us who were honored enough to play football along side Jay will never forget those suspenders, the locker room antics, or the effort. Always, the effort. There has never been any quit in Jay. Even when things were not easy for Jay, you would never hear a single complaint from him... not then and not ever.
Social media has allowed all of us to reconnect with each other, and with Jay, and he instantly reminded us the spirit he carries each day. Jay has always been the first to congratulate each one of us on any accomplishment, or any accomplishment of our children. He was so proud of his son’s accomplishments at Cooper and it was so great to see those posts on Facebook and be able to return those same congratulations to Jay. Often, he used Messenger, and mentioned personal memories we shared with him.
Jay and his family need us at this critical time. It is time for us to share the spirit and blessings he has given us since childhood, back with him and his family. We all know that medical care and medical expenses are difficult to adequate to plan and save for, and can be financially devastating to any of our families. Because of this, the Class of ‘87 requested from Jay’s wife Maria to establish a GoFundMe page to offer tangible assistance for someone who means so much to our class and everyone that calls him friend.
Thank you!
