We (Jay and Kayleigha) founded Science Division LLC to bring science fiction to life by merging today’s technologies with
yesterday’s and tomorrow’s dreams.
Our current project is the most life like Tribble currently available to Star Trek fans. It's also app-enabled.
We built the first Tribble in our living room. Ever since childhood, Kayleigha has wanted a real life Tribble as a pet. We decided to make one. Kayleigha learned C++ coding for Arduino micro controllers from internet tutorials. Jay learned to solder electronics. We even built a preliminary app using MIT App Builder. Piece by piece we got our prototype up and working.
Family and friends encouraged us to pursue the license from CBS to manufacture and distribute our Tribbles. Miraculously, we were granted the license in February. That's when we founded the company. We began our Tribble pre-sale period at the end of July. The Tribbles have been really well-received! We are looking forward to placing our initial order soon with our manufacturer.
Although we have come a great way on our own (and with contributions from our family), we could use some help with the overhead costs of running our LLC. Product development involves insurance expenses, product testing costs, app-development fees, etc. The business is just the two of us, so every little bit helps.
We have come so far, already. We just need a little bit more right now to keep this business going.
