Jaxons Road To Walking

Donation protected
This is Jaxon! Jaxon is 6 years old about to turn 7. He had a rough start to life with having a major heart surgery at 17 days old that resulted in Cerebral Palsy. Jaxon has Spastic Quad Cerebral Palsy affecting all 4 limbs level 3-4. We were told when Jaxon was younger he would not be able to do much such as talking, walking or caring for himself. Jaxon does talk and he does walk with the help of a walker. We travel to many doctor appointments to get the help for Jaxon that he needs. Jaxon's biggest wish is to walk like his younger brother and friends at school. We started looking into a surgery a few years ago that could possibly help him and change his life. The SDR Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, is a surgery where the nerves are cut in the spine to release all muscle high tone in his legs. He has been selected for this surgery to take place in Montreal, Quebec at the Shriners Hospital. We are waiting on a date to be selected for his surgery to take place. He will have this surgery then we will spend 6-8 weeks living in Montreal for Jaxon to undergo intense therapy and begin what is going to be Jaxon’s new life of walking. A dream come true for our son. We really appreciate everyone that is willing to donate money to help Jaxon begin his journey towards a new lifestyle of freedom!
