Jaxon's Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected

Most of you know this little angel's face. But for those who don't, this is Jaxon Curtis Pruett. He turned 3 on March 24. His parents are Lauren (Sherman) Pruett and Clayton Pruett. He was diagnosed on April 20th with type B Acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Until Easter Sunday he was a healthy, vibrant ball of energy. After a five day fever his pediatrician noticed his blood counts were extremely low. They were immediately sent to Children's of Alabama in Birmingham, where the diagnosis was confirmed. He has had three rounds of chemo and is fighting like a champ.

Like most loving parents, Clayton and Lauren never dreamed this would be their reality, but they are being as strong as they can for their little boy. In the middle of the questioning, grieving, researching, and praying they have been asked by so many supportive friends and family, “How can I help?” Many people have probably heard or read the same two words I did when I asked the same question…

 “Just pray.”

So, if you are reading this, please pray. Pray for Jaxon’s little body to be strong enough to withstand treatment and be completely healed. Pray for Clayton and Lauren to have strength and faith through the biggest trial they have ever faced. Pray for close family and friends to say the right words, and be the support they need. Pray for the medical team at Children’s hospital to give the best care and to be guided by The Great Healer.

The family is blessed with medical insurance through Clayton’s employer, however the length and cost of treatment for Jaxon will be extensive. This page is set up so that if you would like, you can donate to the Pruett family to help with medical bills, prescriptions, and frequent visits to Children’s Hospital. The Pruett’s initially declined to even discuss a page for monetary donations, but agreed after considering the overwhelming financial burden. The “goal amount” on this page is just a category that has to be filled in. There is no goal except to see Jaxon in remission as soon as possible. Please remember if you donate not to stop there. Please share his story and ask people to pray for Jaxon’s fight against Leukemia.
