Jaws of Life Purchase

Today 3205 people will die as a result of a road collision. That's as many as would be killed in eight Jumbo Jet crashes.
 
Every week 22,435 people will die on the world's roads – almost 100,000 people every month.
 
In addition to the 1.2 million people killed each year on the world's roads between 20 - 50 million are estimated to be injured.
 
World Heath Organization projections indicate that by 2020 road traffic injuries could rank third among causes of death and disability, ahead of such other health problems as malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
 
Aside from the unacceptable human cost, road death costs the global economy $518 billion each year.

These facts along with a drive to improve our skills as professional firefighters were the driving forces that started The Puyallup Extrication Team (aka PXT)http://www.thepxteam.org/ . We wanted to feel confident in our abilities when it came to extricating a victim(s) from a motor vehicle accident, ultimately making our streets, highways and communities safer through education and training.

Our group was officially established in 2000 as a 501-C-3 Non-Profit educational group that has provided auto to heavy extricaton to thouands of firefighters here in North America, Europe, Mexico, Chile, El-Salvador and this year Argentina as well.

Our efforts are funded through personal and industry donations with many of these donations coming in the form of tools & equipment. Through these donations we have been abe to instruct up to 50 fire & rescue personnel per class improving their abilities in the rescue discipline of auto extrication.

 Recently we lost one of our long time tool supporters that provided the main tool(s) we use for teaching, the Jaws of Life https://www.jawsoflife.com/  . We were told that after 18 years it came down to a financial/business decision.

Your donation will help us to purchase our own Jaws of Life tools and continue our efforts providing quality training to firefighters and rescue peronnel helping  to reduce the time and effort it takes to extricate a victim from a motor vehicle accident. 

We have many classes already scheduled well into 2018. It is imperative that we replace the tools in order to continue to provide the level of training we have since 2000.
