Many of you know my boyfriend Javon, "Jay," Jay EveryDay. You probably know him for the kind, generous and genuine man that he is.
One week ago, very early morning last Saturday around 3am, a stolen car was parked next to Javon's car next to his home in Roxbury and set on fire. Javon's car also caught fire and was totaled. If you know Javon, you also know how proud he was of having the opportunity to buy his own car. He spent his entire savings to buy it last spring, and spent many many paychecks maintaining its upkeep.
As would be our luck, his insurance covers everything but fire. And since the other car was stolen, its insurance agency won't cover anything because that car's rightful owner wasn't at fault. Of course the police haven't found the car thief and likely won't.
Javon is extremely hard-working and currently works three jobs - two of which he needs to drive to. We have no choice but to get a new car. This is a true case of wrong-place-wrong-time and unfair circumstances for the innocent. Who will pay for this? Javon.
