Jasper Lotus Hawkins

On Christmas Day of 2017, my friend and neighbor Jasper Lotus Hawkins lost her beloved sister, Deirdre Mackey, and niece, Grace Misztal, in a tragic auto accident as Deirdre and Grace traveled from Portland to spend Christmas with their family in Bend. Jasper has been juggling an impossible number of tasks in her attempt to handle her sister's affairs as well as the deep commitment she has to her own work caring for the horses and other animals on the ranch where we both live - not to mention her many clients at the salon. 

Due to the time necessary to be in Portland to arrange funeral services, the dispersion of Deirdre and Grace's belongings, and generally handling all the sadly necessary tasks following the death of a loved one, Jasper has unfortunately lost a significant amount of income, as she has been both physically and emotionally unable to return to work. As she rents her salon space and is basically her own boss, she also lacks any paid time off for this sort of need.

I want to help ensure Jasper can pay her rent - both at home and at her salon - so she doesn't have to worry about losing those things on top of what she's already dealing with. Anybody who knows her also knows she is an incredibly kind, loving, generous person, one who would happily do anything within her ability to help another living creature - human or animal.
