In what was supposed to be such a joyous time in Jason's and Becky's lives awaiting the arrival of their daughter in November has turned into a time of unimaginable loss and grief.
Jason Wells passed away on June 2nd, with one of his closest friends, Tim Klein. Jason and Tim died in a tragic accident doing what they both loved: climbing El Capitan in Yosemite. They were exceptionally skilled climbers and their sudden fall was a shock to everyone. Becky is trying to accept this terrible loss, while adjusting to life and the thought of raising their daughter without him.
Jason lived life with passion, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic. He was eternally dedicated to improving at the things he loved: his relationship with Becky–the love of his life, practicing yoga, rock climbing, and working tirelessly to build a better life for his wife and their daughter. As a kind and compassionate man, he poured his heart and soul into his friends and family, inspiring us all to be better than we thought we could be.
Jason and Becky are beloved members of the climbing, yoga, and Deaf communities. Becky now faces pregnancy, giving birth, and raising a child on her own. The support of Becky’s and Jason’s communities, friends and family are needed to help with this daunting challenge, especially as they face the devastating emotional void caused by Jason's loss.
