Jason Kirkes&Family Beating Cancer

My brother's always been strong and independent. He pretty much raised himself and made his own way without the help of anyone- that's not an exaggeration. He has a beautiful wife named Jackie and three adorable children named Jeremiah, Mia, and Lily. Life was going well for them a couple of months ago. They had just closed on their new home, were avid members of the couples group at their church and had just had a hilarious Christmas morning spent with their children in a hotel because they weren't able to move into their new home yet. A few weeks later their view of the future changed from an ecstatic and happy home to a frightful and dreadful picture. He had gone to the emergency room with abdominal pain and because of his past medical history, the doctor decided to run some extra tests. A few years ago he had been diagnosed with testicular cancer and had surgery to cure it. He had been cancer free for a few years. Unfortunately these new tests showed that it had extended to his lymph nodes. He was told that he would have to have surgery and have the lymph nodes removed (mainly upsetting due to a lymph node being on his inferior vena cava, a major blood vessel going back to the heart) and four rounds of chemotherapy to follow. In a split second, their whole world was changed. Unfortunately, instead of being able to focus on getting through the surgery and chemotherapy, all my brother can think about is how he's going to be able to work and support his family. He is self-employed and has always worked a lot to provide for his family and unfortunately this diagnosis came while his wife is currently pursuing her masters and won't have an income for another few months. With three kids to support, a mortgage, and being told he would probably only have enough energy to work for a couple of hours a day while receiving chemotherapy (which he's receiving through June), all he can think about is how he's going to make it work. I have to admit, my brother is very proud. A go fund me page is not something he would ever see himself having. However, under the circumstances, it seems like one of the few options out there that would actually help. I also know that if it were reversed and it was someone he cared about, he wouldn't hesitate to donate and help a friend/ family through a tough time. No donation is too big or small... everything is helpful. I know a lot of people are struggling right now and if you aren't able to donate but can say a prayer you could donate nothing and just write something showing your support and prayers... your encouragement and positive thoughts would mean the world to them.
