Jason's story:

"Jason is a wonderful Father to Samantha (11) Hope (9) Ethan (8) and Thacher (6) and has been happily married to his Wife, Becky for past 14 years.

In February 2017 Jason was informed that the company he worked for had been sold and there would no longer be a need for his Electrician skills . He immediately started looking for new employment but was losing sleep and often unable to eat due to what he thought was stress. He contained to work until March 22nd while visiting the hospital for abdominal discomfort and exhaustion but with little results. Finally the doctors decided there must be more to his symptoms then stress so they started to dig deeper.

May 4th 2017 Jason was diagnosed with Cancer. A large mass on his duodenum and common bile duct.

June 5th 2017 a successful surgery removing all the cancer using the wipple procedure in Calgary Alberta. Jason and Beck spent 2 weeks in the hospital and where able to get the 4 kids up to see Dad a few times which brightened his stay.

July 5th 2017 follow up with Surgeon. Everything went perfect, he could not have asked for better margins. Unfortunately Jason's pathology report came back showing 6 of the 8 lymph nodes they tested where cancerous.

July 26th 2017 Jason and Becky meet with the oncologist and received Jason's official diagnosis:

Stage 2B pancreatic cancer, Survival rate 30% treatment 6 months of aggressive Chemo therapy.

Jason response: "Well someone has to be the 30% and its going to be!"

Jason is now actively fighting cancer with chemo therapy, positive thinking, and lots of prayer. The next 6 months will be a long hard road with Becky working full time come september, weekly trips to Lethbridge for chemo, 4 kids in school and other activities but Together as a Family they Gouchies will beat this!!

They have been overwhelmed with the love and support of friends and family who have dropped of meals, called, visited, and helped with the kids as they have gone through this trial.  Even with all the love and support and Becky working the bills are beginning to pill up. They have used their savings, RRSP's, and have applied for unemployment Insurance but unfortunately this can take up to 6 months to process.

Please help this wonderful family as they battle to overcome cancer and fight for the future they have always dreamed of. Every little bit helps, thank you all for your love, support, and generosity!
