Jasmon heal from Achilles Heel Tendon RUPTURE
Donation protected
hello family & friends & kind strangers,
My name is Jasmon. I currently work as a Lyft driver and part time ESL teacher in Atlanta. I’m from Henderson, Kentucky, alumni of Centre College and graduated from the University of Southern Indiana.
I love music, linguistics, nature and doing outdoor activities like going hiking, kayaking and swimming. During the week, I spend most of my hours working and earning a living like a lot you all.
On June 6th, I fully ruptured my Achilles’ heel
tendon. I was helping a man to push his Jeep off of a highway exit ramp that was causing traffic when I heard a loud pop and felt immediate and severe pain around my Achilles on my right leg! My first reaction was that either someone hit me with their car or someone shot me with a gun. An Achilles heel tendon rupture is a very serious injury and without a doubt the worst injury of my life this far! Literally the long tendon from the calf to the heel of your foot snaps completely in half! I was completely shook. All weight bearing, strength, and mobility is lost in the injured leg.
The worst part was the emergency room kind of brushing it off as a sprain and making me wait 11 hours to see a doctor! 11 hours y’all. But at least I wasn’t rushed in to the hospital. God bless all the people going through life or death situations in these hospitals. Thankfully I’m healthy other than this Achilles being torn apart.
Healing times and physical therapy for this injury is lengthy. It’s going to cost me time and money! Those are the two most important things right?!?
my pursuit to become a better more effective worker, educator, friend and most of my personal passions are now on hold for the next several weeks due to my not being mobile. This has caused an unexpected financial hit. I was on a budget. Unfortunately, I didn’t budget in healthinsurance so I currently am uninsured. I don’t have any estimates about how much all this is going to cost just yet but I already it’ll be a ridiculous number (you guys know it too) so I thought it be wise to reach out to dear family friends and the kind strangers to help me financially while I’m dealing with this Torn Achilles.
I am humbly humbly reaching out for whatever support from family, friends, kind strangers and those who see this campaign. Thoughtful contributions will help while I'm off my feet recovering. Prayers and encouraging messages are more than welcomed as well! I'm thankful in advanced for anyone able to contribute!
I'm going to read The Iliad while I’m healing since my Achilles isn’t acting right lol.
