<div>After 5 incredible years organizing and collaborating to create outdoor events for queer people of color in the Pacific Northwest, and nearly 15 years working professionally across many industries in communications and marketing, I am taking a big step in my journey on this earth and becoming a certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT).

<div>Shinrin-yoku, or “forest bathing,” originated in Japan and offers a sacred invitation to slow down and experience the precious life around us with all senses. In a world that feels increasingly uncertain and fast-paced, I believe we are being called to reset, to connect with the world around us and with ourselves. I’ve witnessed how disconnection from the earth, from community, and even from one’s own body and breath can deepen the struggle to center and ground. Spending time in nature has been a profound way to care for myself when I’ve needed it most, and has helped me find connection and calm physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

<div>I am becoming a Forest Bathing Therapy Guide because I believe nature is not just a place to visit, it’s part of who we are. Through guided experiences, I hope to help others struggling with disconnection, burnout, stress, anxiety, and depression to ground and find a deeper connection to themselves and the living world around them. Not through effort, but through presence.
