Jared's Widow & Family Support

Donation protected
Jared Wyckoff passed away in the loving arms of his wife and with his children on February 25, 2018.  He is missed by those that knew him and those that felt his influence.

Jared was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in September 2017.  After his terminal diagnosis in early 2018, Jared turned to those that he had served and asked us to make sure that his family was taken care of.  Many of you have asked how you can help this family, and we wanted to share his wishes with you.  He said that taking care of his family was his most important desire.

While generous family have made sure the funeral expenses are covered, Jared's family can use funds to pay off cars, a modest home and a bathroom renovation that had been started, but not completed due to Jared's rapid decline.

I wish I could take my beating heart and show you how much I love this family.  Instead I will have to use words.

Jared has quietly served and mentored those around him without a need for recognition.  His help is both personal and national in scope.  He has built his mother a shed.  He has mentored his sister into a career.  He quietly audits donations for his church to make sure each penny is accounted for.  He has mentored a First Lego League team of four kids in electronics and mechanical design, which helped them win the U.S. President's Environmental Youth award for 2016.

He taught his daughter, Anna, the tricks of the lens to become a wonderful photographer.  He taught his son, Christopher, a love of information technology.   He taught his daughter, Karina, woodworking and a love of nature.

While he claims to have taught his wife, Connie, patience, we all know that they taught each other love, faith and eternal companionship.

For those that have read of our tribute to Jared, thank you.  For those that choose to share of your substance, thank you for helping us follow his deepest desires.

His obituary can be found at the Jenkins Soffe Funeral Home website.
